Discover Saint Kitts & Nevis

Kitts and Nevis are not your typical Caribbean islands. People are not in a rush to figure things out, or in a hurry to leave dinner. Here it is best to relax and enjoy yourself. The islands are rich with history. It’s not all rainbows, butterflies, and tree frogs.

‘The Three Must Knows,’

WATER is the most valuable resource on the island. If you do not have water, you will die OR pass out. Well, maybe not die but don’t catch yourself without water.

SUNSCREEN is a necessity. Saint Kitts sits 80 degrees above the equator. YOU WILL BURN HERE. I don’t care how long you have been here, where you are from, everyone needs sunscreen. Except of course the natives. Seriously though, they need it just as much as us. However, natives don’t tend to enjoy the sun, as much as the typical tourist, they have it all year long.

BUG SPRAY is a necessity. When the mosquitoes down here bite you, you can feel the after effect. You get a sore that boules and there is not much you can do for it. For lack of a better word, they suck.

There is an energy here that can’t be captured. Maybe that is why so many people come from all over the world to vacation here. In my opinion, a dreamers paradise.

Kitts and Nevis should be on your bucket list! I love the untouched beaches; you can pack a picnic, and find a secluded beach to enjoy a meal. TREE FROGS, FIREFLIES, BUTTERFLIES, MONKEYS, DONKEYS, GOATS, AND WILD SHEEP! ALL YEAR LONG.

Don’t Stamp Yourself Out

Many have asked this question if you knew the exact day that you were going to die, would you be living your life differently? You don’t have to see when you are going to die to start living life. I am learning that all you have to have an honest willingness to participate in life. Everything else works itself out.

You indeed, do not have to be rich to change your life, you have to have a desire to improve. Allowing myself to explore my thoughts and feelings, for me has opened up a whole new way of living. I find that most people get stuck in a rut. At least I was stuck in a rut. When you live a life of faith, that wall around you that you put up to protect you suddenly starts to fall. Life expands, and so does your willingness to participate.

No one should live in fear of others opinions, thoughts, and judgments.

There are many different ways to start a life of self-discovery. For me, it is writing my thoughts in this blog, re-reading them, and then choosing what is appropriate for now to share and what is not. Some may find that getting lost in a good book is a good way of self-discovery. Self-discovery is the act or process of achieving self-knowledge. Self-discovery is about finding your identity and not allowing people, places, things, or situations define you.

It is so easy to lose yourself. When I graduated from high school almost twenty years ago, there were about 3 billion humans on the planet. Today, there are 7.3 billion humans on this plant. In twenty years, we doubled the number of people that live on earth. With the advancement of medical technology and increased knowledge, humans live longer. Back in the 1500’s you were lucky if you lived past 30 years old.

Think about that for a moment.

Everyone has a time-stamp on their life. We do not know the final date stamp. Today, when I woke up, I was grateful for another day. I hope you feel the same.

Pathology: A Dedication To my Parents!

I wanted to write about pathology because I believe if you understand your family pathology than you have a better chance to live a successful, happy life. Regardless, of what you may or may not have received as a child. As adults, we are all always on stage in front of children.

Parents may get angry or frustrated with their children when they do not do what you want them to do. Children, only know right from wrong in their informative years, with the tools that parents or role models have given them. In theory, that sounds nice. Children learn by example, and if the correct standard is not set “then, you reap what you sow”? I believe that parents get angry with their children, sometimes for their decisions. Is it really about the choices that a child makes that causes a parent to get frustrated with their child?

Alternatively, is the decision that the child makes, that creates a parent to look at themselves, that gets them frustrated? I am not a parent; however, I have to believe that parents at one point or another have realized that their children are a direct byproduct of what they created. I also think that most parents want more for their children than what they were given.

It is so easy for a mother and father to look at their child and say, I wish you could have done this; differently, I wish you would have ended up this way, I hope that you could have been better than me. However, flip the coin, and it is just as easy for a mother and father to look at their child and say I am proud of you. Guilt and shame will never change the outcome of ANY human being.

With every generation that passes, we can only hope they will proceed us. I can’t even begin to tell you the stories of how both of my earthly parents were raised and how both of them, wish more for me than their parents were able to hope for them. I do not have biological children, so I do not know what goes through the minds of parents, but I do know that I that many sets of parents love me. I am a role model to my sister’s children. Some children don’t ever get to meet their earthly parents, and I am grateful that today I have both of them as living examples of faith in my life.

Good Things Come to Those Who Ask!

Thanks for joining me!

In life, I do not always get what I want, when I want it. I believe that God has a plan for my life. By the grace of God, my God has always watched over me. Even in GOOD times, when I had lost faith, he had never lost faith in me. Believe in yourself and never stop dreaming.
